April 29 Pattern and Construction: Leather Clutch

Location: 817 W. Davis #110 Street
Instructor: Corrie Humble

Learn basic pattern making for a  leather clutch. Students will learn and leather and it's production process, practice hand stitching and finishing. Leave class with a finished clutch and the know how to create more in your home studio.

Studio tools and leather will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own tools as well:
-awl
-exacto knife
-pattern paper
-collar stud closure
-thread for stitching

BIO: Corie Humble has been designing leather goods for over a decade, and much of her experience has been hands on. She owned a label, which all leather goods were made in Brooklyn. She has been a professional pattern maker and has worked as a technical engineer at Coach. Corie also was a designer at Skagen, a brand owned by Fossil. In 2016, she went to Ethiopia to design a collection and train a workshop on better finishing techniques, while in Ethiopia she made all the patterns for the collection and worked with a tannery to develop a signature leather. She currently is a freelances leather designer.
