Lithography is a traditional printmaking process using the principals of oil and water resistance to create a repeated image. Known for its soft gradations, this is an excellent process for those who enjoy charcoal, pencil and ink wash media. The class will teach students the lithographic process on aluminum and polyester plates in place of stones, using tusche wash, litho crayon and image transfer. Students will leave with at least two small-scale editioned prints and a foundation of lithography printing.
