Rachel Rushing is an artist and maker living in Oak Cliff with her husband, Ryan, and their pup, Kodak the Greyhound. She is obsessed with cardigans, Topo Chico, and her 1987 Rainbow edition Peugeot Triathlon.
Her personal artwork focuses on the relationships between people and the natural environment using any means necessary including digital photography, video, printmaking, bookmaking, installation, and historical photo processes.
Rachel and Ryan also team up as Various MFG. They love bringing their art powers together to make handmade artists' tools, books, lettering, and design.
At Oil and Cotton this urban cycling señora teaches little artists about foundations of art and color theory. She also leads adult workshops on handmade photography using liquid emulsions, camera mechanics, and contemporary photo-printmaking techniques.
